Engineering & Verification Protocols
Every ornament produced in our studio undergoes systematic testing to ensure physical resilience. Because domestic environments introduce rapid shifts between chilly storage areas and warm hearth rooms, materials must withstand thermal expansion without fracturing. We apply polarized light stress analysis to all hand-blown soda glass and conduct continuous hygrometric audits on raw timber stocks.
The Science Behind the Build
Soda glass requires gradual cooling within an electric lehr oven over several hours, relieving thermal stress introduced during free-blowing. Linden timber, chosen for its dense yet workable cellular matrix, undergoes slow dehumidification over twenty-four months to stabilize its fibers before carving.
- Quality check: Polariscopic strain verification of every glass sphere and moisture-meter verification across all wood blanks before carving begins.
- Traceability: Timber sourced exclusively from certified European managed woodlands, paired with refined silica sand and lead-free flux compounds.
Why This Matters for Daily Use
Properly tempered glass withstands gentle handling during seasonal packing without spontaneous micro-fractures. In identical fashion, seasoned linden wood retains its fine hand-chiseled contours and painted finishes without seasonal swelling, preserving fine carvings for future generations.
